Our Story

About the Institute

A community devoted to helping the faithful draw closer to Christ — that all who honor His mother might be led, through her, to her Son.

Our Mission

To lead souls to Christ through His Mother

The Immaculatae Societas takes a practical approach to encouraging Marian devotion. We provide material explaining the Rosary, the Brown Scapular, and the Miraculous Medal, along with books and religious articles to those who cannot afford them. We also direct visitors to established Catholic organizations where they can request Mass intentions, particularly for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, or find organized pilgrimages.

The work is maintained by a small group who volunteer as time permits. Immaculatae Societas is not a religious order or formal membership organization, and there are currently no plans to recruit new volunteers.

How We Began

A Work Taken Up Again

Our work reaches back to the 1980s and the founding of the Marian Institute of America, which operated until 2007. Throughout that time, the founder was involved in Marian activity associated with the message of Fatima, giving talks on Fatima and encouraging devotion to Our Lady through the Rosary and the Brown Scapular.

Following the founder’s death and a period of inactivity, the original Institute ceased operating. Immaculatae Societas has taken up the spirit of that earlier work, and continues to promote devotion to Our Lady as the original founder of the Marian Institute intended.

Looking Ahead

Plans for the Ministry

As the work develops, we intend to make older Catholic devotional materials easier to obtain and to provide sacramentals to mission priests.

We also hope to prepare traveling exhibits on Fatima and the rosary for parishes to host. Alongside displays explaining the message of Fatima, visitors would take part in a "living" rosary. Each of the 59 participants would hold a bead of a large rosary and take a turn leading the prayer for that bead.

In all of this, our purpose remains the same: to lead souls to Christ through His Mother.
