Who We Are

A house devoted to Our Lady

Promoting devotion to the Mother of God.

The Institute exists to encourage a deeper and more active devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. We give particular attention to the Rosary, the Brown Scapular, and the Miraculous Medal, helping to make their purpose and practice better known.

Devotion to Our Lady calls us to remember the Holy Souls in Purgatory. We encourage prayer and sacrifice for them, especially the offering of Mass intentions.

A troubled world needs the greatest prayer on earth.

For the Holy Souls

Have a Mass offered

The greatest gift we can give the Holy Souls in Purgatory is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Requesting a Mass is simple. You give an intention — a departed loved one, the Holy Souls, or thanksgiving in honor of a saint or feast — along with a small offering, and a priest offers the Mass for that intention. The offering in turn supports the priest.

The associations and shrines below allow you to make Mass requests online or by mail.

Saint of the Month

St. Clare of Assisi

Feast · 11 August · 1194–1253

Born to a noble house of Assisi, Clare heard St. Francis preach and, at eighteen, left everything to live the Gospel in poverty. She founded the Poor Clares and guided them for forty years from the little convent of San Damiano.

When soldiers came against the city, she met them at the wall with the Blessed Sacrament in her hands — and they turned away.

A Prayer

O God, who led Saint Clare to leave all things for the love of Christ, grant, by her intercession, that we may hold nothing dearer than Thy Son, and so come at last to the joys of eternal life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
